In these animated stories, nature and friendship with it are in the spotlight. An architect discovers the mysterious power of caring for a small garden from the window, cows come to life in a mosaic full of humor and sensitivity, a little girl puts aside her video games and learns the beauty of the real world, and a citizen fights, alongside the community, for their urban garden.
From Korea to the Czech Republic and from the UK to France, these films invite children to discover biodiversity, appreciate green places, understand the importance of caring for animals, and dream of worlds where nature and people live together in balance.
A selection that combines dance, imagination and civic activity with current themes of housing, sustainability and protecting ecosystems.
The screenings are followed by discussions guided by a cultural mediator from the CULMEA team.

Part of the CULMEA program for adults, this film sparks a courageous reflection on life after death, in a key of reintegration with nature. Although it may be viewed as a non-religious choice, this practice resonates with one of the oldest biblical truths: “earth you are and to the earth you will return.”
In relation to environmental themes, the documentary also brings a pragmatic dimension: human composting could reduce the ecological impact of cemeteries and crematoria, two infrastructures with a negative environmental footprint. Because, after all, humans are the only species that continues to occupy space even after they die.
The screening is followed by a talk in English with Gaëlle Gaignaire, director of the film, and Laura Cândea-Burnette, doula at death, art therapist and companion of people in profound moments of passing and loss.

What if, after our last breath, we became fertile land?
In Europe, dedicated citizens are campaigning for humusation (composting of human remains) to be studied, validated and legalized. In the United States, this alternative to cremation and burial is already practiced in two states. Although it is based on a natural process — aerobic decomposition, perfected by nature over millions of years — the idea has revolutionary force on a cultural level. Little by little, a little-known and controversial movement is taking shape.
