The second edition of the first environmental film festival aimed at children and young people will take place in Brasov from 16 to 20 October 2024.

Sunday, September 8 took place in Brașov Steps towards a greener Brasov. How we demand reforms and how we protect the positive measures in the city, the first Climate Walk organized in the city by CULMEA: film and environmental education in partnership with Street Delivery Brasov.

The CULMEA team launches the fourth edition of CULMEA Cinemateca on the weekend of 6-8 September in Brasov within the Street Delivery festival. Coming to the end of the four-issue series, Cinemateca in September explores one of the most important themes for the new generation: environmental activism.

During 2024, the CULMEA team will propose a catalog of films (short and feature films) on topics such as biodiversity, food waste, fast fashion and activism. The monthly screenings at CULMEA Cinema create a context for the development of a community of children, young people and adults who are informed, curious and willing to imagine a different future.

The first environmental film festival aimed at children and young people, takes place in Brașov, from 6 to 10 September 2023

The textile and fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. Whether your clothes no longer fit or are out of style, 57% of discarded, unsold and used clothes end up in landfills. As clothing degrades in landfills, it releases methane, a powerful greenhouse gas that is 28 times more powerful than carbon dioxide.

In Romania, 6,000 tons of food end up in the garbage, meaning that one in three meals a day is wasted. One of the solutions by which we can prevent waste is to reconnect with food, so the second edition of CULMEA cinema, which has as its theme FOOD WASTE, will equip us with concrete tools to reduce waste and bring back the joy of meals in the community.

We are looking for museum educators, teachers, cultural workers (NGO and institutional environment) or students (journalism, psychology, educational sciences, cinema — photography, etc.) who want to become facilitators of education for film and the environment.
