Do you have a passion for cinema?
Are you aware of climate change and want to know more about how you can help protect the environment?
Do you want to be part of the organizing team of a film and environmental festival?
The culmination! We are also looking for young people between 12-18 years old to join us! Join the community and you can contribute to a multidisciplinary program at the intersection of film, the environment and civic activism.
Between April and December 2024, we need help to organize the first edition CINEMATECA CULMEA: monthly, we organize film screenings and actions for the community, on topics such as fast fashion, biodiversity or environmental activism.
Do you want to help us?
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and come up with ideas of activities relevant for teenagers in Brasov.
- You help us communicate the cinema schedule either offline (pasted on posters) or online (reels/posts)
- Give a helping hand at events, from preparing the cinema to decorating the space or supporting Q&A discussions.
And what do I learn from this?
- Participate in workshops dedicated to communication, project management and festival production.
- See films from major festivals for the first time and have the opportunity to contribute to the selection of films for CULMEA Festival, 2nd edition, which will take place in October 2024.
- You know the entire CULMEA team and understand what it means to organize a film project. Who knows, maybe in the future you will too. Or maybe you already have an idea and need help. Guess who can support you to start a project with you in school?
- You receive diplomas of participation and certificates that can be very useful in various, especially in the college admission file.
What does participation in the program involve?
- Participation in CULMEA team is voluntary and takes place between April and September 2024. You don't have to be involved all the time, and just one month is helpful. If the above resonates with you, sign up and we'll decide the best way to get you involved in the program together.
- You will not need to miss school or classes, it is important that we get to know each other and, depending on the program and your interests, decide how you can get involved.
- Most likely it will be a few hours a month, so you have time for all other plans 🙂

CULMEA: Film and Environmental Educationis the first environmental film festival dedicated to children and young people.
We set out to create a context for information, discussion and imagination on the climate crisis, using film as a tool and window to the world. We want to help create a community of children & young people who are more informed about the climate crisis and better equipped with knowledge and tools for responsible and sustainable living.
