Melati is 18 years old and for six years has been battling the plastic pollution that is wreaking havoc in her country, Indonesia. Like her, an entire generation is getting down to the job of fixing the wrong things in the world. Across the globe, adolescents and young adults are fighting for human rights, climate, freedom of expression, social justice, access to education or food. From the favelas of Rio to remote villages in Malawi, from makeshift boats on the island of Lesbos to Native American ceremonies in the Colorado mountains, Rene, Mary, Xiu, Memory, Mohamad and Winnie reveal a possible world: one of courage and joy, of involvement in something greater than yourself. At a time when everything seems to be falling apart or has collapsed, these young people show us how to live. And what does it mean to be in the world today.
